Dr. Larry Sylvester graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1984, and that same year married Ann Cunningham of Chambersburg.  They moved to Reading, PA where Dr. Sylvester obtained a position at the Morgantown Eye Care Center where he first worked with Mark Anker. 

After one year at Morgantown, Dr. Sylvester was recruited to help start Total Vision Care in Lancaster, PA. As Total Vision Care grew in to a four office practice, Dr. Sylvester became Director of Professional Relations, overseeing seven other optometrists as well as seeing his own patients.

After several years, Dr. Sylvester reunited with Mark Anker and they decided to open their own practice together. Dr. Sylvester considered his wife's hometown, Chambersburg, PA, to be a perfect location.  Convinced that Chambersburg was poised for growth and ready for their innovative approach to the Optical industry, Mark agreed and the move was made. They opened Future Vision in August of 1991.

They moved to a new office on Gateway Avenue near exit 17.  Dr. Sylvester said, "We were well received by the people of Chambersburg and hopefully have provided the best level of care possible.  We look forward to expanding the services we offer in our new state of the art facility". In their new location, Dr. Sylvester is now able to provide care for patients with glaucoma and dry eyes as well routine examinations for glasses and contact lenses.

Larry and his wife Ann have made Chambersburg their home. They are raising two boys, Jimmy age 17 and Michael age 14. Both are active in sports and scouting.

Both Ann and Larry are also active in scouting as members of their troop committee while Ann is active with the lacrosse club.

Dr. Sylvester is also a board member of the Children’s Aid Society of Franklin County and Totem Pole Playhouse.

Mark Anker, is an A.B.O. certified Optician and Co-Owner of Future Vision. He is a veteran businessman, manager and trainer of Opticians, Frame Stylists, and Lab Technicians with over 3 decades of experience in the Ophthalmic Industry. His strongest asset is his people skills with the ability to solve virtually any eyewear-related issues. His awareness of the latest fashion trends, as well as his knowledge of the most recent developments in lens technology, and his drive to be pro-active in those areas makes Future Vision the premier optical shop it is today.

Mark, who was born in Reading, PA has been living in Chambersburg since 1991 where he met his wife Tina, a native of Chambersburg. They are raising a family of 3 boys, the youngest, Maxx still at home, Jake Fore, the eldest, working with Newcomer Associates since graduating Penn State’s technical college, and Zach Fore currently attending college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
